ASCE International Conference on Transportation & Development: Engineering Smart Mobility for the Smart City

Join the conversation at American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) flagship transportation and development conference as experts from the public sector and Civil and Transportation Engineering community take the stage with leaders from the hi-tech world to discuss the deployment of technology to deliver smart mobility for the smart city. This is the event where leaders from Amazon, Verizon, Samsung, Electrify America, and Con Edison get together with leaders from WSP, Bechtel, KCI, MCity, ITS America, Federal Transit Administration, and Federal Communications Administration to discuss the impact, challenges, and opportunities in engineering smart mobility for the smart city.
The conference includes over four (4) plenary sessions designed to understand and harness smarter mobility for smarter cities. The program also includes 48 breakout sessions in 8 concurrent tracks covering the breadth of transportation and development on Connected & Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) Impacts, Emerging Technologies, Transportation Safety, Planning & Development, Rail & Public Transit, Infrastructure Systems, Traffic Operations, and Aviation Planning & Operations. Preconference events include several workshops ranging from cybersecurity to 5G applications in smart cities, and from ethical challenges of disruptive technologies to the impacts of truck platooning on infrastructure, energy, and environment. Post-conference events include technical tours of FHWA Turner-Fairbanks Research Center and Reagan National Airport. Several networking events over food and drinks, including an icebreaker reception and an awards banquet, are built throughout the conference program.
