Dive Insight:
Host cities, transportation agencies, intercity bus operators and ride-hailing companies are preparing for a surge of World Cup visitors, which could increase traffic congestion on game days, transportation experts say.
Lime’s operational areas may change on certain days in June and July in Dallas, Seattle, San Francisco and San Jose, California. Parking restrictions may be in place for Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco and San Jose. In Atlanta, Lime valets will be on hand during match days at select locations to provide parking assistance and vehicle set-up when arriving or leaving the games.
Lime says these efforts come from its experience providing micromobility service during the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris and the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan.
In New York City, Citi Bike will increase valet service at Penn Station for those going to matches in New Jersey and at viewing events throughout the tournament.
